N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine (NALT)
N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine, otherwise known as NALT, is a modified version of the amino acid, L-Tyrosine, where the N-terminal has been acetylated for increased bioavailability.
NALT works by increasing levels of the neurotransmitter, Dopamine, in our brain. This occurs via the brain using the enzyme tyrosine hydroxylase to convert L-Tyrosine into L-DOPA (a precursor to dopamine). NALT has been shown to increase cognitive performance and assist the brain in coping with the effects of stress and has been shown to be beneficial to those with ADHD.
